Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about iPSC exosome therapy in Malaysia.

Safety

Yes. Exosome therapy has an excellent published safety profile. As a cell-free therapy, exosomes carry none of the risks of live cell therapies — no immune rejection, no tumour formation, no ectopic tissue. Our GMP-certified exosomes undergo sterility, endotoxin, and particle quality testing before release.
Side effects are typically mild and transient. For injection-based treatments, localised redness, swelling, or tenderness may occur for 12–48 hours. For IV infusion, mild fatigue or warmth at the injection site is occasionally reported. Serious adverse events have not been reported in published clinical literature.
Exosome therapy is generally contraindicated in: active cancer or haematological malignancy, acute infection or sepsis, pregnancy and breastfeeding, known hypersensitivity to any component. Always disclose your full medical history to your treating clinician.

The Science

Exosomes are nano-sized (30–150nm) extracellular vesicles secreted by cells as biological messengers. They carry mRNA, microRNA, growth factors, and signalling proteins that reprogram the behaviour of recipient cells — triggering regeneration, repair, and renewal. Learn more on our What Are Exosomes page.
iPSC (induced pluripotent stem cell) exosomes come from cells reprogrammed to the most primitive youthful state — carrying a far richer regenerative cargo than adult MSC exosomes. They are produced from a standardised cell line (no donor variation), manufactured under GMP standards, and backed by Nobel Prize-winning science. See our full iPSC vs MSC comparison.
Because exosomes trigger gene expression changes in target cells — not just temporary symptomatic relief — results can persist for 6–18 months. Aesthetic results (skin, hair) typically last 6–12 months with proper skincare. Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months are recommended to sustain and build on results.

Treatment

For skin and hair treatments: 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. For neurological and metabolic conditions: 4–6 sessions over 8–12 weeks. Your treating clinician will design your personalised protocol based on your condition, severity, and treatment goals.
Yes. Exosomes work synergistically with many other treatments. For skin: excellent results when combined with microneedling, laser, or radiofrequency. For hair: can complement minoxidil or finasteride therapy. For joints: works alongside physiotherapy and hyaluronic acid injections. Your clinician will advise on the best combination for your case.
Recovery is minimal. For facial and scalp treatments, most patients return to normal activities the same day. Mild redness for 12–24 hours is normal. For intra-articular (joint) injections, rest for 24–48 hours is recommended.

Cost & Access

Pricing varies by clinic, treatment type, and protocol. Contact our authorised partner clinics directly via our Find a Clinic page for current pricing. As a premium iPSC product, exosome therapy is positioned above conventional PRP treatments.
Currently, exosome therapy is not covered by standard Malaysian health insurance as it is a premium wellness and regenerative treatment. It is treated as a private, out-of-pocket treatment. Some clinics offer instalment payment plans.
